GENRE Chapter 1 - Investigation
\tIt was 9:00am in the classroom. The sun was peeking through the window, trees waved to us from outside, the clock was ticking; the air-conditioner was buzzing. Today felt like a perfect day.
Mr. Farber, our teacher, was checking if the rumors were true. A few girls in our class thought that the back cubbies had a strange scent to them. I assumed that it’s their trash-talking mouths, because they make a stink about everything. My Name is Riley Wilson; I’m friends with Daniella Dunphy and Abigail Curtin. We werе students of Mr. Farber’s 4th Grade class, and wеre the Best of The Best.
\tDani and I checked the cubbies anyway, just because our curiosity was growing in anticipation. I was never prepared for what happened next. Smoke flooded our senses, making us dizzy- yet, it smelled good. To me, at least, because Dani was plugging her nose.
\t“Riley, What the heck? This is terrible!” Dani protested. She was wondering why I wasn’t affected by the smell, I think. “I Have no idea.” I responded. “But I do know that Mr. Farber should see if the other classes have our problem.” Dani opened her mouth to say something, then cut herself off and nodded.
